William LANGRIDGE (c1539-1597)

William Langridge may have been born about 1539, possibly
in East Grinstead. He was probably the son of
(c1499-1558) and Sybell. William was buried on 3
September 1597 in East Grinstead and it was noted in the burial register
that he was Will Langrige, senior.
He left a will dated 26 August 1597 and proved at Lewes on 8 November 1597.
He was then described as a yeoman of East Grinstead.
A Joane Langridge, widow buried on 28 June 1613 in East

Sibell Langrige may have been part of
this family. She was baptised on 18 May 1561 in East Grinstead.
Agnis Langrige was baptised on 4 July 1563 in East
Grinstead. Agnes married Edward Drew on 27 May
1583 in East Grinstead. As Ann Drewe, widow she
was named in her brother John's will which was proved in 1646.

She was baptised on 26 October 1567 in East Grinstead.
Judith Langrige may have been part of this family.
She was baptised on 11 September 1569 in East Grinstead. Judith
may have married John Awoorde by licence on 4 February
1593/4 in East Grinstead. Their marriage licence was issued on 2
February 1593/4 by the Archdeaconry of Lewes, which noted that she was a
spinster of East Grinstead and he was of Falmer. However, there
was another Judith Langrige born in 1575.
Alice Langrige was baptised on 2 December 1571 in East
Grinstead and buried there on 21 February 1581/2.
