John LANGRIDGE (c1620-1686)
and Alice FELDWICK (1623-1692)

John Langridg
and Alice Velveek may have been my 9x Great Grandparents. They
married on 3 July 1642 in East Grinstead, Sussex.
John Langridg
may have been baptised on 15 June 1617, the son of
John Langridg
and Rody Tayler
(?-1619), or on 18 May 1624, the son of
John Langridg and
Bridget Homer.
Both baptisms took place in East Grinstead. He was buried on 2
December 1686 in East Grinstead and the burial register noted that he was a
weaver. John left a will dated 13 January 1680/1 and proved in 1686, at which time he was a weaver of
East Grintead (ref. A37-177).
Alice Feldwick
was baptised on 20 July 1623 in East Grinstead. She was the daughter
of Thomas Feldwick (1597-?) and
Elizabeth Wickens
(c1600-?). She was buried on 7 May 1692 in East Grinstead. Alice
left a will dated 23 May 1690 and proved in 1692 at which time she was a
widow of East Grinstead (ref. A41-9).
John Langridge and
Alice Feldwick had 3 known children:
-
An
Langridge, my possible 8x Great Grandmother, was baptised on 10 May
1643 in East Grinstead. The baptism register records that her
parents were Will and Alice, but I believe her father's name was wrongly
recorded. Ann married
Thomas
White in 1665. (They have their own page.)
-
John Langridge
was baptised on 11 August 1644 in East Grinstead. He left a
will dated 3 May 1679, at which time he was John the younger, a weaver of East
Grinstead. He left all his lands and property to his loving father
and mother, John and Alice.
-
Thomas
Langridge was baptised on 4 October 1646 in East Grinstead.
