William KNIGHT (c1750-?)

and Mary FARLEY (c175o-?)

 

William Knight and Mary Farley married by banns on 22 July 1773 in Rudgwick, Sussex.  He was then of Slinfold, Sussex and she a spinster of Rudgwick.  The witnesses to the marriage were James Burchatt and William Agate.  (They were not my direct ancestors.  William and Mary may have been the 4x great parents of my cousins.)

William Knight's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might he have been born on 12 July and baptised on 17 July 1747 in Rudgwick and have been the son of William Knight?

Mary Farley's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might she have been baptised on 29 December 1754 in Rudgwick and have been the daughter of William Farley and Elizabeth Etherton?

 

William Knight and Mary Farley had 5 known children:

  1. Ann Knight was baptised on 5 June 1774 in Slinfold.

  2. James Knight was baptised on 2 June 1776 in Slinfold.

  3. Stephen Knight was baptised on 31 May 1778 in Slinfold.  He may have married Hannah Botting in 1803.  (They have their own page.)

  4. Henry Knight was baptised on 6 February 1780 in Slinfold.

  5. Hannah Knight was baptised on 19 May 1782 in Slinfold.
