Judith SARE (c1600-?)
were my 11x Great Grandparents. They
married on 7 October 1622 at the parish church of St. Peter and St. Paul in
Wadhurst, Sussex. He may then have married Judith Drincker, widow, on 26 January 1628/9 in Westfield,
Sussex. (Ten years later a
married in Westfield.)
date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. He may have been buried on
22 November 1656 in Wadhurst and the burial register records that he was
'Old Wm Kitchenham of Ticehurst'. Or was he buried on 7 August
1668 in Wadhurst? He may have been the son of
(c1575-1655). In 1642 he may have been the William Kitchenham
who contributed 5 shillings to the relief of the Irish Protestants.
date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. The wife of William Kitchenham was
buried on 26 December 1627 in Wadhurst. Was this of Judith?
Judith Sare's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
She first married Alan Drincker on 6 October 1616 in Westfield.
They had the following children:
Steven Drinker was baptised on 28 October 1621 in Guestling, Sussex.
Joane Drinker was baptised on 15 February 1623 in Guestling.
Joseph Drinker was baptised on 11 March 1626/7 in Guestling.
Robert Drinker was of Mayfield when he was mentioned in his half
brother John Kichinham's 1682 will. He may have married Joan
Hilder on 30 May 1650 in Wadhurst, and/or Susanna Gardeuebus on
17 March 1667 at St. Thomas in Lewes, Sussex (The IGI says Robert
married Susanna, whereas the Sussex marriage index records that it was
Richard). Robert may have been the father of:
Robert Drinker was of Mayfield when he married Elizabeth Gup
by licence in 1691 at the parish church of St. Thomas Cliffe in Lewes,
Sussex. Their marriage licence was dated 9 June 1691 and her name was
then recorded as Elizabeth Bassett, a spinster of Mayfield.
Robert's brother John mentioned 3 sons of Robert in his will, but not by
William Kitchenham and Judith Collier may have had 4 known children:

She was mentioned in her brother's 1682 will as the wife of William
Wellard. They married on 31 March 1657 in Thurnham, Kent.
William was then a hoopmaker of Darenth and Mary of Thurnham.
William and Mary had the following children:
William Wellard was mentioned in his uncle John's 1682 will, by
which he was to receive his uncle's messuage, lands and tenements in

April 1633 in Wadhurst. Only his father's name was recorded in the
baptism register. He left a will dated 20 July 1682. John
married Margaret Roberts on 13 December 1659 in Maidstone. From his will it would seem there were no
surviving children from this marriage. John was of Maidstone when he
died. As a widow, Margaret Kitchenham of Sutton Valence
married David Austen on 31 January 1688 in Sutton Valance or East
Sutton. David was then a bachelor of Staplehurst.
Jane Kitchenham was baptised on 20
March 1634/5 in Wadhurst. Only her father's name was recorded in the
baptism register. She was mentioned in her brother's 1682 will as
the wife of William Chapman. They married on 26 October 1658
William and Jane had the
following children, who were mentioned in her brother's will:
Joseph Chapman was baptised on 9 November 1663 in Detling.
Margaret Chapman was baptisedon 20 May 1666 in Detling.
Mary Chapman was baptised on 2 June 1672 in Detling.
Jane Chapman was baptised on 9 May 1675 in Detling.
