John KITCHENHAM (c1575-1655)

and Unknown (?-?)

John Kitchenham may have been my 12x Great Grandfather.  He was buried on 14 January 1654/5 in Wadhurst and the burial register recorded that he was nearly 80 years old.  Might he have been the son of John Kitchenham and Joan D--- who had married on 3 November 1571 in Mayfield, Sussex?

On 26 August 1604 he may have been the John Kitchenham a husbandman of Wadhurst who leased property from Thomas Aynscombe senior and junior of Mayfield.

Might John's wife have been the Alice Kitchenham buried on 28 January 1618/9 in Wadhurst?

John Kitchenham and unknown may have the following children: 5 202

  1. Dorothy Kitchenham may have been a daughter of John.  She married John South on 9 June 1616 in Wadhurst.

  2. Alice Kitchenham may have been a daughter of John.  She married Edward Chapman on 24 October 1626 in Wadhurst.

  3. William Kitchenham, my 11x Great Grandfather, may have been a son of John.  He married twice, firstly to Judith Collier in 1622 in Wadhurst and then widow Judith Drinker in 1629 in Westfield.  (They have their own page.)

  4. Mary Kitchenam may have been a daughter of John.  She married Anthony Longlay of Goudhurst, Kent, on 13 November 1626 in Ticehurst, Sussex.

  5. John Kitchenham may have been a son of John.  He married Susan Markwick in 1630 in Wadhurst.  (They have their own page.)

  6. Stephen Kitchenham may have been a son of John.  He married Dorothy Fowle in 1639 in Westfield.  (They have their own page.)

  7. Elizabeth Kitchenham was baptised on 17 March 1610/1 in Wadhurst.  Might she have married John Weller by licence on 20 April 1628/9 in Horsted Keynes, Sussex.  Their marriage licence records that she was a spinster of Wadhurst and he of Horsted Keynes.
