Edward KITCHENHAM (1785-1832)

and Hannah DURRANT (c1785-1831)

Edward Kitchenham and Hannah Durrant married by banns on 26 November 1806 in Wadhurst, Sussex.  They were both then of Wadhurst and both signed their names.  The witnesses were William Harmer and John Cooper who both signed their names.  William Harmer may have been Edward's brother-in-law.  The banns were published in Wadhurst on 2, 10 and 17 November 1806.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Edward Kitchenham was baptised on 10 April 1785 in Wadhurst.  He was the son of William Kitchenham (1750-1829) and Mary Tester (1747-1825).  Edward died aged 48 years and was buried on 12 July 1832 in Wadhurst.  He was a labourer.

Hannah Durrant's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She died aged 46 years and was buried on 9 October 1831 in Wadhurst.

Edward Kitchenham and Hannah Durrant had 3 known children:

  1. Sophy Kitchenham was baptised on 4 January 1807 in Wadhurst and buried there on 17 April 1826 aged 19 years.

  2. Henry Kitchenham was baptised on 6 November 1808 in Mayfield, Sussex.  He married Sabina Richardson in 1832.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Elizabeth Ann Kitchenham was baptised on 23 February 1812 in Mayfield.  She died 15 years and was buried on 28 January 1826 in Wadhurst.
