Thomas JENNINGS (1648-1684)

and Joan (c1650-1684)

Thomas Jennings and Joan were my 8x Great Grandparents.  They married before or about 1670.

Thomas Jennings was baptised on 15 April 1648 in Beenham, Berkshire.  He was the youngest son and child of Richard Jennings (1606-1659) and Joan (c1610-1677).  He was buried on 29 August 1684 in Beenham.

Joan's date and place of birth are unknown.  She was buried on 31 August 1684 in Beenham.

Thomas Jennings and Joan had 6 known children:

  1. Thomas Jennings may have been the first born son and have been baptised in his mother's home parish in about 1668.  He married Elizabeth.  (They have their own page.)

  2. John Jennings was baptised on 17 April 1670 in Beenham.

  3. Joane Gennings was baptised on 4 February 1672/3 in Beenham and buried on 10 April 1677, aged 4 years.

  4. Mary Jennings was baptised on 17 May 1674 in Beenham.

  5. Ann Jennings was baptised on 7 April 1678 in Beenham.

  6. Abraham Jennings was baptised on 7 January 1681 in Beenham.

There may have been another daughter named Joan born after 1677.

As both parents died in 1684, who cared for the children?  And what may have been the cause of death of the parents - accident or illness?
