John JACKMAN
(c1640-?)
and Joan TRIGG (1649-?)

John Jackman and Joan Trigg married on 13 April or June 1669 in Stoke next to Guildford, Surrey.
John Jackman's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
There was a John Jackman baptised on 8 March 1640/1 in Haslemere,
Surrey, the son of Francis Jackman (1629-1682) and Elizabeth.
But there was also a John Jakeman who married Elizabeth Artridge
on 29 January 1662/3 in Alfold, Surrey, and Alfold is a little closer to
Haslemere than Stoke. The Jakemans were in Alfold in October 1669, so
it is unlikely that John married to Joan had previously married Elizabeth.
Joan Trigg may have been baptised on 7 July 1649 in Godalming,
Surrey, and have been the daughter of William Trigg and Ann
Stewart (1608-?).
Only John's name appeared in the baptism register against to the baptisms of
their children.
John Jackman and Joan
Trigg had 7 known children:
-
Frances Jackman was baptised on 11 January 1673/4 in Puttenham,
Surrey. She may have married John Woods on 25 September 1694
in Godalming, Surrey.
-
Mary Jackman was baptised on 26
January 1676/7 in Puttenham. She married
Thomas
Harrison in 1700. (They have their own page.)
-
Marg Jackman was baptised on 26 January 1676/7 in Puttenham.
(Mary and Marg maybe one and the same.)
-
Ann Jackman was baptised on 31 May 1686 in Puttenham.
-
Elizabeth Jackman was baptised on 28 October 1687 in Puttenham.
-
John Jackman was baptised on 21 March 1688/9 in Puttenham and
probably died as an infant.
-
John Jackman was baptised on 2 March 1689/90 in Puttenham.
He married Mary Fuller on 9 November 1713 in Worplesdon, Surrey (as
per the IGI) or Mary Flutter on 8 November 1713 (as per the Surrey
Marriage Index). They had 1 known son:
-
John Jackman was baptised on 17 June 1715 in Puttenham.
Only his father's name was recorded in the baptism register.
Details on this page have come from the IGI and the Surrey Marriage Index.
I have also checked the 2nd edition of the National Burial Index and the 2nd
edition of the British Isles Vital Records Index, but nothing found.
At some point I will visit the Surrey Record Office and check the details
against original sources.
