Thomas Isted and Margaret Crouch may have been my 9x Great Grandparents.  They married on 16 April 1632 in Warbleton, Sussex.  They were both then of Warbleton.  Margaret was a spinster and Thomas was said to be a bachelor, although he may have previously married Denise Crouch on 31 January 1624/5 in Warbleton.  Thomas was then also described as a bachelor and Denise a spinster, who were both of Warbleton.

Thomas Isted may have been baptised on 10 September 1610 in Framfield, Sussex, and have been the son of Edward Isted (1584-?) and Margaret Avery (1590-?).  But if he had previously married in 1625, then the 1610 baptism would have been too late.  Might the Thomas married to Denise have been the son of Thomas Isted and Elizabeth Whitten who married on 31 July 1592 in Brightling, Sussex?

Margaret Crouch's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might she have been the daughter of Thomas Crouche and Eleanor Hogge who married on 3 June 1588 in Warbleton?

Thomas Isted and Margaret Crouch had 3 known children:

1. Elizabeth Isted, my possible 8x Great Grandmother, was baptised in January 1635/6 in Warbleton.  She married John Gibson in 1661.  (They have their own page.)

2. Mary Isted was baptised on 31 March 1639 in Warbleton.  Only her father's name was recorded in the baptism register.

   Did she marry John Martin on 23 May 1659 in Warbleton?  John was then from Sevenoaks, Kent.

3. Jo Isted was baptised or buried on 30 August 1640 in Warbleton.  Only his father's name was recorded in the (burial) register.

Thomas Isted and Denise Crouch had 4 known children:

1. John Isted was baptised in April 1626 in Warbleton and buried there on 5 April 1626.  Only his father's name was recorded in the baptism and burial registers.

2. Elizabeth Isted was baptised on 9 October 1627 in Warbleton and buried there on 28 November 1627.  Only her father's name was recorded in the baptism and burial registers.

3. Thomas Isted was baptised on 11 January 1628/9 in Warbleton and buried there on 4 February 1628/9.  Only his father's name was recorded in the baptism and burial registers.

4. Thomas Isted was baptised in February 1629/30 in Warbleton.  Only his father's name was recorded in the baptism register.

   Did he or his father marry Elizabeth Jordan, widow, on 27 November 1656 in Warbleton?

Dennes Crouch was baptised on 22 January 1596/7 in Warbleton and was the daughter of Richard Crouch.
