John IRELAND (1756-1831)

and Mary (c1771-1849)

John Ireland and Mary married before or about 1790, possibly near Warnham, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

John Ireland was baptised on 6 April 1756 in Warnham, Sussex.  He was the son of Morris Ireland (1730-?) and Mary Boorer (c1732-1819).  John died age 75 years and was buried on 30 April 1831 in Warnham.

Mary was born about 1771.  She died aged 78 years and was buried on 1 September 1849 in Warnham.

When the 1841 census was recorded, Mary Ireland was a 65 year old beer seller and living in Warnham, Street, Warnham.  Also with her were the family of her daughter Mary and 10 year old granddaughter Elizabeth Ireland.  Mary said she was born in Sussex.

John Ireland and Mary had 3 known children:

  3. Mary Ireland was baptised on 10 August 1802 in Warham.  She may have died aged 75 years and have been buried on 16 September 1875 in Warnham.  The burial register noted she was from Kingsfold, by Blackwells shop.

    Mary had the following son:

    1. William Ireland was baptised on 12 April 1825 in Warnham.  He may have died aged 8 years and have been buried as William Flint on 12 May 1833 in Warnham.

Mary married William Flint by banns on 12 April 1825 in Warnham.  He was a bachelor and she a spinster who married with her parents consent.  The witnesses to their marriage were George Redford and William Greenfield.

William was born about 1802.  He died aged 57 years and was buried on 16 October 1859 in Warnham.  The burial register noted he was from Kingsfold.

In 1841 the couple were both said to be 35 years old and living with her mother in Warnham Street, Warnham.  Also with them were their 3 children (Ellen, Frederick and Henry).  William was then an agricultural labourer.

William and Mary had the following children:
