John HOWELL (1686-?)
and Anne PLAW (1688-?)

John
Howell and Anne Plaw may have
been my 7x Great Grandparents. (Click
here to
see their possible place in my pedigree chart.) They married on 30 October 1709 at St.
Nicholas in
Brighton, Sussex.
John
Howell may have been baptised on 3
January 1686/7 at St. Nicholas in Brighton, and have been the son of
John Howell
(c1645-?) and Lettice. He died after 1721. A John
Howell of Brighton left a will in 1742.
Anne Plaa
was baptised on 20 January 1688/9 at St. Nicholas in Brighton. She was the
daughter of
Robert Plaw (c1660-?) and
Johanna Payne
(c1665-?), although in the baptism register her parents names were recorded
as Robart and Hanah. Her sister
Elizabeth Plaw
also married a John
Howell in 1726.
John Howell and Anne Plaw
had 7 known children:
-
John Howel was bapitsed on 23 July 1710 in Brighton. Did he
marry Mary Hophar on 29 November 1737, or Susannah Wood on 9
June 1738, or Elizabeth Scrase on 20 May 1744? All marriages
took place at St. Nicholas in Brighton. A John Howell
of Brighton left a will in 1767 and another 1783.
-
Thomas Howel, my possible 6x Great Grandfather,
was baptised on 30 January 1711/12 in Brighton. He married
Martha Noble
in 1736. (They have their own page.)
-
Robert Howel was baptised on 30 January 1711/12 in Brighton.
He married Anne Cook on 16 September 1736 in Brighton. Anne
was baptised on 16 May 1715 in Brighton and was the daughter of Henry
Cook.
-
Anne Howel was baptised on 28 February 1713/14 in Brighton.
Did she marry Thomas Ruff on 8 April 1733, or William Cooper
on 16 September 1742? Both marriages at St. Nicholas, Brighton.
-
Lettice Howel was baptised on 2 December 1716 in Brighton.
-
Hannah Howel was baptised on 6 August 1721 in Brighton.
-
Mary Howel was baptised on 5 January 1728/9 in Brighton.
