William HOLLOCK
(c1570-1647)
and Joan JACKMAN (c1575-1627)
and Ann (c1575-1630)
and Mary (c1575-1638)
and Ann (c1575-?)

William Hollock and Joan Jackman were my 11x Great
Grandparents.
to see their place in my pedigree chart.) They married on 25 July 1597 in Pevensey, Sussex.
After Joan's death William married Ann Jarvise by licence on 6 May
1628 at St. Thomas Cliffe in Lewes, Sussex. Their marriage licence was
issued on 15 April 1628 in South Malling and recorded that William was of
South Malling and Ann Jarvis a widow of Heathfield, Sussex. He,
or his son, may then have married Mary Barsye on 7 October 1630 in
Westmeston, Sussex. Mary was a widow. And finally, William
married Ann Roberts by licence on 24 September 1639 in Southease,
Sussex. Their marriage licence was issued by the Archdeaconry of Lewes
on 21 September 1639 and recorded that William Hollocke was a yeoman
of South Malling and Ann Robertes a widow of Southease.
William Hollock's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
He may have been born in Herstmonceux, Sussex and have been the son of
William Hollock (c1545-1611) and Cicely Pellinge (c1545-1611).
They had married in Herstmonceux in 1571 and were most probably buried in
Beddingham, Sussex. Cicely was the daughter of Richard Pelling
and Joan. William was buried on about 10 May 1647 in Glynde.
He left a
will which was proved on 2 July 1647.
Joan Jackman's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
She was buried on 9 February 1626/7 in Glynde and it was recorded in the
burial register that she was Joann wife of Willm. Hollock.
Ann's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. She
was buried on 27 February 1629/30 in Glynde and it was recorded in the
burial register that she was Ann wife of Willm. Hollock of
South Malling. As Ann Amore she may have previously married
Thomas Jervice on 5 November 1598 in Seaford, Sussex.
Mary's date and place of birth/baptism and previous marriage are
unknown, to me. The Glynde burial register records that a Goodie
Hollicke was buried on 30 September 1638 - might this have been Mary's
burial?
Ann's date and place of birth/baptism and first marriage are unknown,
to me. As Ann Dumbrell, widow, she may have previously married
Bartholomew Roberts of Old Shoreham, Sussex on 3 October 1627 in
Southease. She was mentioned in her husband William Hollock's
will.
