James HOADLEY
(1764-1844)
and Mary/Sarah (c1774-1844)

James Hoadley may have married twice. Firstly to Mary
and then to Sarah, or Mary and Sarah may have been one and the same.
No possible marriage(s) have been found in either the IGI or the Sussex
marriage index. (They were not my direct ancestors. James was
the brother of my 4x Great Grandfather, Richard Hoadley.)
James Hoadley was baptised on 1 July
1764 in Edburton, Sussex. He was the second son of
Thomas Hoadley

died aged 80 years from Bronchitis on 6 November 1844 and was buried on 11
November 1844 in Henfield. His death was registered by his son-in-law
Stephen Yeates. James left a will dated February 1832 (I
have a copy of this document and will eventually transcribe it and include
in this site.)
Mary and/or Sarah's date and place of birth/baptism are
unknown, to me. I have not found a
