Simon HARMAN (1733-?)

and Elizabeth GUNN (1729-?)

 

Simon Harman and Elizabeth Gunn may have been my 7x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)  They married by banns on 11 May 1755 in Brighton, Sussex.  They were both then of Brighton.

Simon Harman was baptised on 29 April 1733 at St. Nicholas in Brighton.  He was the son of William Harman (c1698-?) and Barbara Dennett (1696-?).

Elizabeth Gun was baptised on 20 July 1729 at St. Nicholas in Brighton.  She was the daughter of Nathaniel Gunn (1700-?) and Abigail Brappell (1701-?).

 

Simon Harman and Elizabeth Gunn had 6 known children:

  1. William Harman was baptised on 22 September 1755 in Brighton.

  2. Simon Harman was baptised on 11 September 1757 in Brighton.

    Simon married Sarah Allin by banns on 24 April 1779 in Brighton.  They were both then of Brighton.

    Simon and Sarah had the following children:

    1. William Harman was baptised on 14 March 1781 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    2. John Allen Harman was baptised on 1 April 1783 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    3. Simon Harman was baptised on 25 November 1783 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    4. Sarah Harman was baptised on 14 December 1785 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    5. Barbara Harman was baptised on 10 December 1787 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    6. Thomas Harman was baptised on 19 March 1790 at St. Nicholas.

    7. Nathaniel Harman was baptised on 17 June 1793 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    8. Susan Harman was baptised on 22 April 1795 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

  3. Elizabeth Harman was baptised on 25 April 1761 in Brighton.

  4. Barbara Harman was baptised on 7 May 1763 in Brighton and buried there on 31 August 1765.

  5. Barbara Harman was baptised on 6 October 1765 in Brighton.  She married Samuel Simons in 1786.  (They have their own page.)

  6. Nathaniel Gunn Harman was baptised on 5 August 1768 in Brighton.  He was buried on 31 October 1807 in Brighton.

    Nathaniel married Mary Nell by banns on 14 January 1789 in Brighton.  He was a bachelor and she a spinster and they were both of Brighton.

    Nathaniel and Mary had the following children:

    1. Nathaniel Harman was baptised on 23 July 1792 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    2. Mary Anne Harman was baptised on 21 October 1795 at. St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    3. Susan Harman was born on 30 November 1797 and baptised on 2 December 1797 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    4. Ann Harman was born on 5 April 1801 and baptised on 13 May 1801 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    5. Sarah Harman was baptised on 20 December 1803 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    6. John Harman was baptised on 16 March 1806 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    7. Barbara Harman was baptised on 10 July 1808 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.
