Richard HAMES (c1585-?)

and Joan FUNNELL (c1590-1625)

 

Richard Hames and Joan Funnell married on 26 January 1610/1 in Balcombe, Sussex.

Richard Hames date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might he have been the son of Thomas Hames and Elizabeth Webb who married on 3 August 1579 in Ifield, Sussex?

Joan Funnell's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 29 September 1625 in Ardingly, Sussex and it was noted in the burial register that she was the wife of Richard Hammes.

 

Richard Hames and Joan Funnell may have had the following children:

  1. Joan Hames was baptised on 1 March 1611/2 in Cuckfield.  As Joan Hammes she may have married Nicholas Sheppard on 27 October 1642 in Fletching, Sussex.

  2. John Hames was baptised on 24 September 1615 in Cuckfield.  He married Phillippa Tully in 1647.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Elizabeth Hames was baptised on 11 April 1619 in Cuckfield.

  4. Richard Hames may have been part of this family.

    Richard married Susanna sometime before or about 1665.

    Richard and Susanna had the following children:

    1. George Hames was baptised on 16 April 1665 in East Grinstead.

    2. Susanna Hames was baptised on 13 November 1669 in East Grinstead.

  5. George Hames may have been part of this family.
