Richard GRAVATT

In the name of God
Amen I Richard Gravatt of the City of
Chichester in the County of Sussex Taylor being not well in body but of
sound and perfect Remembrance Praised bee the lord therefore Doe make and
ordained this to bee my last Will and Testament in manner and former
following that is to say first and Principally I Commend my Soule into the
hands of Almighty God my Maker and Creator and in Jesus Christ my only
Saviour and Redeemer by whose death and passion I trust only to bee saved
And I Committ my body to the Earth from whence it came to bee decently
buried by the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter mentioned Item I give
and bequeath unto Mary my now loveing wife the moiety or one halfe
parte of the house wherein I now dwell during her naturall life And all my
household goods whatsoever in my said house for and during her naturall life
not to be moved out of the said house nor the property altered without it
bee to pay for my debts and after the decease of Mary my said Wife I
give and bequeath the said moiety of my said House and all my Household
goods aforementioned that shall bee after my debts are discharged unto my
Sonne Richard Gravatt But if my said Sonne Richard Gravatt
shall happen to die without Issue of his owne Body Then my Will and meaning
is that the moiety or one halfe parte of my said house shall remaine and bee
unto my Sonne William Gravatt and his Executors or Administrators
together with all my said Household goods that shall bee and remaine after
my Debts are discharged Item I give and bequeath unto my said Sonne
William Gravatt one shilling to bee paid unto him within one moneth next
after my decease All the rest of my goods and chattels whatsoever I give
fully wholly and totally unto Mary my said Wife whome I make full and
whole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witnesses whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and sealer Dated this seventh day of July in the
year of our Lord One Thousand Six hundred seventy and Nine Rich: Gravatt

John Grigg, Robert Smith
