William GOBLE (1699-?)

and Jane VARNDLE (1701-?)

and Mary LAMBERT (1710-?)

William Goble and Jane Varndle may have been my 6x Great Grandparents.  They married on 25 June 1719 in Fernhurst, Sussex.  William married for a second time to Mary Lambert by licence on 1 October 1729 at St. Martin's in Chichester, Sussex.  Their marriage licence was dated the same day and issued by the Archdeaconry of Chichester.  It recorded that William was a widower and husbandman of Fernhurst, whilst Mary was spinster of Fernhurst.  Surety for the licence was provided by William himself and John Costellow a citizen and alderman of Chichester.

William Goble was baptised on 23 December 1699 in Fernhurst.  He was the son of Richard Goble (1663-?) and Ann Winter (1665-?).

Jane Verndell was baptised on 11 May 1701 in East Meon, Hampshire.  She was the daughter of Richard Verndell.

Mary Lambert was baptised on 12 March 1709/10 in Stedham, Sussex.  She was the daughter of John Lambert and Ann.

William Goble and Jane Varndle had 3 known children:

  1. Jane Goble was baptised on 3 June 1720 in Fernhurst.

  2. William Goble was baptised on 20 April 1722 in Fernhurst.  He married Ann in about 1746.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Mary Goble was baptised on 5 January 1723/4 in Fernhurst.
