Richard FULLER (1624-1677)

and Elizabeth ROOTS (1632-?)

 

Richard Fuller and Elizabeth Roots married on 4 October 1654 at the parish church of St. Mary in Rye, Sussex.  On 24 September 1653 the Brede parish registers recorded a publication of intent to marry.

Richard Fuller was baptised on 25 May 1624 in Brede, Sussex.  He was the son of Richard Fuller (c1590-1646) and Mary (?-1660).  He was buried on 3 November 1677 in Brede.  He was mentioned in his father's will of 1645, by which he was left his father's messuage or tenement of copyhold lands situated in Beckley, Sussex.  He was also required to pay his mother five pounds a year, half yearly, for the duration of her life.

Elizabeth Roots was baptised on 24 June 1632 in Rye, Sussex.  She was the daughter of John Rootes.  Elizabeth may have been buried on 26 March 1682 in Brede.

 

Richard Fuller and Elizabeth Roots had 3 known children:

  1. Thomas Fuller was born on 27 November and baptised on 9 December 1655 in Brede, Sussex.  He may have married 3 times, first to Ann Lingham in 1674, then Elizabeth, possibly in 1681 and then Dorcas Smith in 1692 .  (They have their own page.)

  2. Marey Fuller was baptised on 25 September 1657 in Brede and buried there on 30 January 1657/8.

  3. Elizabeth Fuller was born on 18 August 1659 and her birth was registered in the Brede baptism register.  She may have been buried on 18 August 1659 in Brede, but the burial register records that is was Mary daughter of Richard Fuller who was buried.

 

FULLER
