Richard FULLER
(c1590-1646)
and Mary (?-1660)

Richard Fuller and Mary may
have married sometime before 1615. Richard Fuller and
Mary Ayerst married on 18 January 1608/9 in Heathfield, Sussex, but I
don't think this is the correct marriage.
There was also a Richard Fuller and Mary Gibbon who married on
16 August 1625 in Rye, Sussex, but he was said to be of Rainham in Kent.
Richard Fuller's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
He was buried on 1 April 1646 in Brede, Sussex. He left a will dated 22
December 1645 and proved on 13 June 1646, in which he was described as a
yeoman of Brede.
Mary was mentioned in her husband's will and that of her son John
in 1653. She was buried on 17 August 1660 in Brede and it was noted in
the burial register that she was a widow.
Richard Fuller and
Mary had 5 known children:
-
Thomas Fuller was mentioned as deceased in his father's will.
Thomas married and had a daughter:
-
Elizabeth Fuller was born before 1645 as she was mentioned in her
paternal grandfather's will. Her grandfather left her legacies of a
feather bed, and most importantly, she received her grandfather's lands in
Brenchley, Kent. However, the property was then occupied by July
Weeks, and the rents from the property were to go to Elizabeth's
grandmother. Might she have been baptised on 12 April 1635 in Rye,
Sussex?
-
John Fuller was buried on 12 November 1653 in Brede. He left
a will dated 23 September 1653 which was proved on 26 April 1654.
His will described him as a yeoman of Brede and mentioned his wife Anne,
only son John, brother Richard Fuller, sister Mary Rose,
mother Mary Fuller and friends William Packham and John
Firiminger.
was the father of:
-
John Fuller was baptised on 8 June 1651 in Brede. A John
Fuller son of John Fuller was buried in Brede on 19 June 1673.
-
Mary Fuller was baptised on 11 October 1618 in Brede, Sussex.
She was mentioned in her father's will as Mary Rose, and also by
that name in her brother John's will.
-
Susan Fuller was baptised on 6 May 1621 in Brede and buried there
on 19 September 1622.
-
Richard Fuller was baptised on 25 May
1624 in Brede. He married
Elizabeth Roots
in 1653. (They have their own page.)
Could the following be in anyway related to Richard:
-
Anthony Fuller
may have been born around about 1650. He married sometime before or
about 1675. He had children baptised in Hastings and Brede.
-
Thomas Fuller had children baptised in Brede between 1655 and 1671,
one of whom was named Richard. Thomas
married Susan. (They have their own page.)
-
Christopher Fuller was buried on 8 February 1692/3 in Brede.
He married Elizabeth sometime before or about 1685. They had
the following children:
-
Mary Fuller was baptised on 5 February 1685/6 in Brede.
-
Christopher Fuller was baptised on 15 May 1687 in Brede and buried
there on 20 November 1687.
-
John Fuller was buried on 31 January 1692/3 in Brede.
Another Christopher Fuller was buried on 24 May 1685 in Sedlescombe.
