John FULLER (?-?)

and wives

 

John Fuller was my 9x Great Grandfather.  (Click here to see his place in my pedigree chart.)  But who was his wife and thus my 9x Great Grandmother?  They were the parents of my 8x Great Grandfather, James Fuller baptised in 1645 in Ewhurst, Sussex, but as can been seen from the following list, it's not clear who the mothers were:

 

  1. John Fuller was baptised on 22 October 1620 in Ewhurst.

  2. Nicolas Fuller was baptised on 15 January 1625 in Ewhurst.

  3. Seth Fuller was baptised on 30 September 1627 in Ewhurst.

  4. Edward Fuller was baptised on 3 August 1631 in Ewhurst.

  5. Joan Fuller was baptised on 23 June 1633 in Ewhurst.

  6. A son was born and buried on 11 January 1638 in Ewhurst.

  7. Elizabeth Fuller was baptised on 6 April 1640 in Ewhurst.

  8. A son was born and buried on 22 August 1641 in Ewhurst.

  9. John Fuller was baptised on 5 February 1642 in Ewhurst.

  10. James Fuller, my 8x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 13 April 1645 in Ewhurst.  He married twice, firstly to Elizabeth Nowet in 1669 and then to Sarah Elphicke in 1684.  (They have their own page.)

  11. Thomas Fuller was baptised on 20 April 1645 in Ewhurst.

  12. Elizabeth Fuller was baptised on 15 November 1646 in Ewhurst.

  13. John Fuller was baptised on 1 October 1648 in Ewhurst.

  14. Mary Fuller was baptised on 14 June 1656 in Ewhurst.

 

There were the following possible marriages:

John Fuller married Mary Braban on 1 October 1612 at All Saints in Hastings, Sussex.

John Fuller of Brede married Joan Damper, widow of Ewhurst on 4 November 1619 in Ewhurst.  As Joan Moth she probably previously married Henry Damper on 23 May 1614 in Ewhurst.

John Fuller married Bridge Holman on 26 April 1638 in Ewhurst, Sussex and they were both then of Ewhurst.  The IGI records the baptism of just 1 Bridge Holman and that was on 4 February 1592 in Northiam, Sussex, the daugher of Richard Hollman.  If that baptism was of John's wife, then she would have been too old to have been the mother of the younger children.  But there could have been another younger Bridget who married John.
