James FULLER (1645-1698)

and Elizabeth NOWET (c1650-?)

and Sarah ELPHICKE (1661-1734)

 

James Fuller and Sarah Elphicke were my 8x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)  They married on 17 July 1684 at the parish church of St. Michael in Playden, Sussex.  James had previously married Elizabeth Nonet or Nowet on 15 June 1669 at the parish church of St. James in Ewhurst, Sussex.

James Fuller was baptised on 13 April 1645 in Ewhurst, Sussex.  He was the son of John Fuller.  He was buried on 21 December 1698 in Ewhurst and the burial register noted that he was a labourer.

Elizabeth Nowet's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  I assume she died between April 1681 and July 1684 and was most probably buried in Ewhurst.

Sarah Elphicke was baptised on 30 March 1661 in Brede, Sussex.  She was the daughter of Thomas Elphicke (1630-1678) and Elizabeth (?-1675).  She may have been buried on 14 July 1734 in Brede, but the burial register onlys her name and nothing to help identify which Sarah was buried.  At that time her son Henry was living in Brede.

 

James Fuller and Elizabeth Nowet had 5 known children:

  1. James Fuller was baptised on 22 January 1670 in Ewhurst.

  2. Elizabeth Fuller was baptised on 21 October 1672 in Ewhurst.

  3. Anne Fuller was baptised on 21 February 1674 in Ewhurst.

  4. Anne Fuller was baptised on 24 March 1677 in Ewhurst.

  5. Peter Fuller was baptised on 17 April 1681 in Ewhurst.

 

James Fuller and Sarah Elphicke had 9 known children:

  1. John Fuller was baptised on 26 July 1685 in Ewhurst.  He may have been buried there on 26 March 1755.  He may have married Elizabeth.  She may have been buried in Ewhurst on 20 March 1754.

  2. Henry Fuller, my 7x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 1 September 1687 in Ewhurst, Sussex.  He married Elizabeth Swift in 1714.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Thomas Fuller was baptised on 1 September 1687 in Ewhurst.

  4. Sarah Fuller was baptised on 20 October 1689 in Ewhurst.

  5. Martha Fuller was baptised on 20 December 1691 in Ewhurst.

  6. Stephen Fuller was baptised on 29 October 1693 in Ewhurst.

  7. Dorcas Fuller was born on 29 September and baptised on 6 October 1695 in Ewhurst.

  8. Susannah Fuller was born on 29 September and baptised on 6 October 1695 in Ewhurst.  She was buried on 7 March 1072/3 in Ewhurst and the buried registered noted that she was the daughter of James Fuller, deceased.

  9. Hannah Fuller was born on 9 October and baptised on 23 October 1698 in Ewhurst.
