Stephen FRENCH (c1555-1606)

and Barbara FOWLE (c1560-?)

Stephen French and Barbara Fowle married on 3 June 1579 in Rotherfield, Sussex.

Stephen French was the son of John French (c1530-1590) and Joane.  He died on 19 October 1606 in Chiddingly, Sussex.  Stephen was a yeoman of Stream House in Chiddingly.  He was named in his father's will.  Stephen's own will was made on 4 October 1605 and proved in 1607.  An inquisition post mortem was undertaken on 21 January 1607 to ascertain what lands and property Stephen had held.

Barbara Fowle was the daughter of Anthony Fowle (c1536-1567) and Margery Shurlock.  She was mentioned in the 1560 will of her paternal grandfather, William Fowle (c1500-1566) and that of her father in 1567.

Samuel was baptised on 18 May 1589 in Waldron and was the son of John Fuller and Elizabeth Franke.  He was of Tanhouse or Tanners Manor in Waldron.  Samuel was an executor to his brother-in-law's 1631 will.  He was buried in February 1563.
