Robert FRENCH (c1620-1681)

and Replenish (c1620-1677)

 

Robert French and Replenish married sometime before or about 1650 and possibly in or near Warbleton, Sussex.

Robert French's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He was buried on 28 September 1681 in Warbleton.

Replenish's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 14 May 1677 in Warbleton and the burial register noted that she was the wife of Rob. French.

 

Robert French and Replenish may have had 6 known children:

  1. John French was baptised on 22 December 1650 in Warbleton.  A John French was buried on 17 June 1704 in Warbleton.

  2. Mary French was baptised on 1 February 1651/2 in Warbleton.    A Mary French was buried in Warbleton on 28 February 1695.  Another Mary French was baptised on 26 December 1658 in Warbleton.  Yet another Mary French was baptised on 16 February 1650/1 in Heathfield and she was most probably the one who married Stephen Monk in 1672.

  3. Ann French was baptised 26 March 1654 in Warbleton.

  4. Elizabeth French was born on 18 December and baptised on 30 December 1655 in Warbleton. 

  5. Replenish French was baptisied on 13 May 1660 in Warbleton and buried there on 21 May 1663.

  6. Susanna French was baptised on 7 June 1663 in Warbleton.  She may have been buried on 29 October 1685 in Warbleton.  The burial register records that Susan French was a poor maid.

 

Only Robert's name appeared against the baptism of his children.

 

 

Robert French and Ann Leverie married on 5 February 1646/7 in Herstmonceux, Sussex.  He was then a bachelor of Pevensey, Sussex.  Robert may also have married Mary Reynolds on 1 January 1655/6 in Westham.  The banns for that marriage were published in the parish church of Pevensey.
