The Will of

William FREEMAN (c1600-1670)

 

In the name of God Amen the fourteenth Day of November in the yeare of our Lord God 1669 I William Freeman of West Grinstead in the County of Sussex [---] husbandman being sick & weak in body but of good & perfect memory thanks be to Allmighty God doo ordayne & make this my last will & Testament in maner and forme following first I bequeath my soule unto the hands of Almighty God my maker [---] my for Saluation of the death of my Saviour Jesus Christ And my body to be buried in the Church yard of West Grinstead Item I give & bequeath unto Jane my beloved wife five pounds to be paid within one yeare after my decease Item I give also to my wife the joyned & Beds---] the bed [---] blanketts bolsters all as it [---] and also an iron pot and brass ketell and a pewter plater Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Jane the wife of William Batchelor Twelve pence to be paid imediately after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elenor Snashall widdow five pounds to be paid within one yeare after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Freeman five pounds to be paid within one yeare after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto my sonne John Freeman five pounds to be paid once he shall [---] the age of one and twenty years Items my will is that if my wife shall [---] to mary or be deceased [---] [---] that [---] get of mony & goods given her shalbe paid [---] [---] of my sonne John Freeman All the rest of my goods chattells [---] & debts whatsoever I give & bequeath unto my two sonns William and Richard Freeman [---] I ordaine and make [---] Executors of this my last will & Testament paying all [---] Legacies at the [---] before mentioned In witness [---] of I [---] [---] set my hand & seale the day & yeare above written William Freeman sealed delivered in the presence of us Anes Moore ~ Richard Capper
