have been my 13x Great Grandparents.
may have been the son of a William Fowle who may have died
in the time of Henry VII, therefore, before 21 April 1509. William
junior may then have become the ward of
He was buried on 16 June 1567 in Rotherfield. William left a will
dated 6 September 1560.
William was a
resident of Rotherfield by at least 1523 as in that year and the next he
acted as Rector's Churchwarden. William was a witness to wills made in
Rotherfield in 1541 and 1546. In 1547 he attended a vestry meeting in
Rotherfield and on 29 April 1557 he attended a Rotherfield court "to obtain
permission to let three swynes of Fright ferling for ten years from the
previous Michaelmas to Thomas Russell, and one swyne of the same
ferling, with two swynes of Lightland ferling in Frant".
Margarett Godyne was the daughter and
sole heir of Richard Godyne of Rotherfield, Sussex. She was mentioned in her
and Margarett Godive had the following children:
