William FINCH (1685-?)

and Elizabeth PUTTOCK (1688-?)

 

St. Peters, Slinfold, from: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/52711William Finch and Elizabeth Puttock were my 7x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)  They married on 10 May 1710 at the parish church of St. Peters in Slinfold, Sussex.

William Finch was baptised on 3 April 1685 in Slinfold.  He was the son of 5 324 John Finch (1653-1709) and 5 324 Sarah Richardson.  Like his father, he was a carpenter.

Elizabeth Puttock was baptised on 28 December 1688 in Rudgwick.  She was the daughter of 5 323 Thomas Puttock (1654-?) and Sarah Hersie.

 

William Finch and Elizabeth Puttock had 4 known children:

  1. John Finch, my 6x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 11 March 1711/2 in Slinfold.  He married Sarah King in 1732.  (They have their own page.)  His father was described as a carpenter in the baptism register.

  2. Sarah Finch was baptised on 20 August 1714 in Slinfold.  The baptism register recorded that her father was a carpenter.

    Sarah may have married John Moore on 21 May 1735 in the Fleet Prison, London.  At the time she was a spinster of Slinfold and he a bachelor and husbandman of Rudgwick.

  3. William Finch was baptised on 24 April 1718 in Slinfold.

  4. Thomas Finch was baptised on 10 December 1721 in Slinfold.

    Thomas may married Elizabeth Hoadley on 3 January 1744/5 in Shermanbury, Sussex.

 

FINCH          PUTTOCK
