John FAULCONER (c1560-1624)

and Susan (?-?)

John Faulconer and Susan were not my direct ancestors, but John was the brother of my 10x Great Grandfather.  The married sometime before or about 1589.

John Faulconer was the son of Edward Faulconer (c1540-1588).  He was of Combsickers in Balcombe, Sussex and also held lands in the parish of Worth, Sussex.  He was appointed executor of his father's 1588 will.  John died on 22 July and was buried on 24 July 1624 in Balcombe.  He left a will which was dated 4 April 1621 and proved on 7 July 1624 (Lewes A18 172).  Overseers to his will were Thomas Shepheard of Horsham, attorney and John Newnham, senior of Balcombe.  In his will he mentioned kinsman Thomas Warde.

Susan was mentioned in her husband's will.

John Faulconer and Susan had 10 known children:

  1. Henry Faulconer was baptised on 28 October 1589 in Balcombe.  He was of Gravetye.  He was an executor to his father's will and had all his lands.  He was admitted to the lands of Richard Faulconer of Ripe and mentioned in the will of his uncle Thomas Faulconer.  He was mentioned in the 1643 will of his mother-in-law, Katherine Infield.  Henry sold Gravetye to Edward Payne of East Grinstead and named as living in his will of 1658.  He was named in and witnessed the will of John Hamlyn of West Hoathly on 1 December 1663.  Henry was probably buried on 31 May 1676 in West Hoathly.  His will was dated 23 May and proved on 14 July 1676 (A34 209).  He held Westupps, late Newmans in Balcombe.

Henry first married Agnes daughter of Richard Infield of West Hoathly on 1 February 1620 in West Hoathly.  She was buried in West Hoathly on 22 September 1635.  They had the following children:
