William
Elliott and Sarah
married before or about 1820. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
William Elliott was born about 1794 in Mayfield or Wadhurst,
Sussex. The death of 79 year old William Elliott was
registered in the fourth quarter of 1872 in the St. Olave, Southwark, London
registration district.
Sarah was born about 1803/4 in Haslemere or Godalming,
Surrey. The death of 79 year old Sarah Elliott was
registered in the third quarter of 1880 in the St. Olave, Southwark, London
registration district.
At the time of the 1841 census the family were living in Neckinger Street,
Bermondsey. William was said to be a 47 year old cabinet maker and
Sarah was 35. Five of their children were at home on census night.
When the 1851 census was recorded the couple and 2 daughters were living at
1 Neckinger Street in Bermondsey. William was then a 57 year old
cabinet maker and gave his place of birth as Mayfield. Sarah was 48
and said she was born in Haslemere. Also with the family was 18 year
old lodger and leather staker, Henry Day from Bethnal Green
in Middlesex.
In 1861 William and Sarah were living in West Street, Bermondsey. He
was a 67 year old cabinet maker and said he was born in Wadhurst, whilst
Sarah was 57 and said she was born in Godalming. With the couple were
2 of their daughters.
The 1871 census records the couple were living at 88 West Street,
Bermondsey. William was a 70 year old carpenter and said he was born
in Wadhurst. Sarah was 68 and said she was born in Haslemere.
With them was their youngest daughter, and unmarried 32 year old lodger
Thomas Davis.
William Elliott and Sarah had 10 known children:

dresser in 1841 and living at home.

Elliott was baptised on 3 September 1823 at St. Mary Magdalene
in Bermondsey.

Elliott was born about 1825. He was a 16 year old
labourer in 1841 and living at home.

Elliott was baptised on 25 March 1827 at St. Mary Magdalene in
Bermondsey.

Thomas
Elliott was baptised on 12 October 1828 at St. Mary Magdalene
in Bermondsey.

Robert
Elliott was baptised on 8 August 1830 at St. Mary Magdalene in
Bermondsey. The 1841 census records that he was 11 years old.

Sarah Ann
Elliott was baptised on 10 March 1833 at St. Mary Magdalene in
Bermondsey.

Ellen
Elliott was baptised on 6 April 1836 at St. Mary Magdalene in
Bermondsey. The 1841 census records that Eleanor Elliott
was 6 years old. She was a 16 year old dressmaker
in 1851 and living at home with her parents. In 1861 Ellen was an
unmarried 26 year old hat trimmer and living at home.

Elliott was baptised on 23 October 1839 at St. Mary Magdalene
in Bermondsey. At the time of the 1841 census she was 2 years old.
She was 10 years old when the 1851 census was recorded. In 1861
she was a 20 year old hat trimmer and living at home with her parents.
The 1871 census records she was an unmarried 29 year old hat trimmer and
living at home.

Elizabeth Elliott was baptised on 23 October 1839 at St. Mary
Magdalene in Bermondsey.
