and Joan LAWE (1567-?)

and Ann SELDEN (c1570-?)

 

Samuel Eliott and Joan Lawe married on 18 February 1587/8 in Ferring, Sussex.  Samuel may also have married Ann Selden on 9 September 1593 in Patching, Sussex.  (Patching borders Ferring.)

Samuel Eliott's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

Joane Lawe was baptised on 4 July 1567 in Ferring.  She was the daughter of Thomas Lawe.

Ann Selden's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

 

Samuel Eliott may have had the following children:

  1. Alice Eliot was baptised on 5 January 1588/9 in Ferring.  She may have married Samuel Swifte on 2 July 1611 in Salehurst, Sussex.  (This seems unlikely to me, simply because of the distance between Ferring and Salehurst.)

  2. Thomas Eliot was baptised on 7 November 1594 in Ferring.

    A Thomas Elliott of Littlehampton, Sussex, left a will dated 1640.  A Jane Elliott widow of Littlehampton left a will dated 1669.  A Thomas Eliot married Jane Pucknoll on 12 November 1626 in Midhurst, Sussex.

    Thomas and Jane may have had the following children:

    1. Anne Elate was baptised on 9 January 1624/5 in Littlehampton

    2. John Elliott was baptised on 30 August 1629 in Littlehampton.

    3. Samuell Elliott was baptised on 11 April 1631 in Littlehampton.

    4. Thomas Eliot was baptised on 5 January 1632/3 in Littlehampton.

    5. Richard Elliot was baptised on 3 February 1635/6 in Littlehampton.

    6. William Elyat was baptised on 14 April 1638 in Littlehampton.

  3. Elizabeth Eliott married John Snellinge on 11 June 1617 in Ferring.

    John and Elizabeth had the following children:

    1. John Snellinge was baptised on 28 June 1618 in Ferring.

    2. Jeams Snellinge was baptised on 10 October 1619 in Ferring.

    3. William Snelling was baptised on 2 June 1622 in Ferring.

    4. Thomas Snelling was baptised on 25 July 1624 in Ferring.

    5. Robert Snellinge was batpised on 4 February 1629/30 in Ferring.

    6. Elizabeth Snelling was baptised on 10 February 1631/2 in Ferring.

    7. Anne Snelling was baptised on 3 Febraru 1633/4 in Ferring.

    8. Martha Snelling was baptised on 16 February 1635 in Ferring.

    9. Dorathie Snelling was baptised on 7 April 1640 in Ferring.

  4. John Eliot married Margaret Gratweeke on 6 July 1631 in Ferring.

    Margaret may have been baptised in March 1606 in Tortington , Sussex and have been the daughter of William Gratwyk

  5. Joan Elliott of Littlehampton left a will dated 1640.
