Mary EDE

This the Last Will
and Testament of me Mary Ede of Steyning in the County of Sussex
widow made the Twenty fifth Day of March in the year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Six as follows First I commend my
soul unto the hands of almighty God my Mercifull Creator trusting through
the meritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and
forgiveness of my sins And as for the worldly Estate wherewith it hath
pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof in manner following I Give
and bequeath unto my son Robert Ede my Silver half pint pot and a
Gold Ring All the rest residue and Remainder of my Chattles
and personal Estate whatsoever my Just Debts and funeral Expenses being
first paid and satisfyed I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Ede
and my son William Ede to be equally divided between them share and
share alike my household goods linnen and wearing apparel except which I
give unto my said Daughter Mary Ede And I make and appoint my
said son William Ede and my said Daughter Mary Ede Joint
Executor and Executrix to this my last will And In Witness that this
is my last will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day
and year first above written Mary Ede Signed Sealed Published
and declared by the said Mary Ede the Testatrix to be her last will
and Testament in the presence of us who have in her presence and the
presence of each other subscribed our Names [---] hereto Richard Penfold

proved (by virtue of a commission) before Mr John ??? Clerk
Commisoner On the Eleventh day of June in the year of our Lord 1778 By the
oath of William Ede and Mary Ede natural and lawful children
of the deceased and Joint Executors therein named To whom & well and truly
& sworn saving..
