William Eastwood
was baptised in May 1714 in
Mayfield, Sussex. He was the son of John Eastwood
(c1679-1744) and Ann Piper (?-1760).
William was buried on 18 February 1788 in Burwash. (His mother may
have been baptised on 26 July 1676 in Mayfield, Sussex and have been the
daughter of Richard Piper and Ann - thanks
to her descendant, John Eastwood, for passing on this
data.)
Ann Monk was baptised on 5 July 1719
in Etchingham, Sussex. She was the daughter of
Henry Monk (1682-1759) and
Sarah Collins (c1685-1767). She was mentioned in her father’s will
as the wife of William Isted,
although it is believed that he was William
Eastwood.

Edmund Eastwood was born on 9 July 1808 and
baptised on 14 August 1808 in Ninfield. Edmund married
Elizabeth. Elizabeth was born about 1808 in Goudhurst,
Kent. When the 1851 census was recorded the couple and 7
children were living at Chessons in Ticehurst. Edmund was then
said to be a 41 year old agricultural labourer and Elizabeth was 43.
Also with them on census night was 3 year old visitor George
Eves. Edmund and Elizabeth had the following

Goudhurst. He was an 18 year old farm labourer in 1851.

died on 19 April 1873 in Oriskany Falls, New York, USA. Edmund
married Hannah Vidler on 24 March 1844 in Ticehurst. Hannah
was born on 4 April 1819 and baptised on 28 May 1820 in Ticehurst and
was the daughter of Thomas Vidler. She died on 15 September
1858 in Bodiam, Sussex and was buried on 17 September 1850.

At the time of the 1841 census the couple together with 6 children and 30
year old Elizabeth Eastwood were living on Road side in Burwash.
Henry and Ruth were both said to be 35 years old and he was an
agricultural labourer. In 1851 the family were living "on Town Gate"
in Burwash.
