Arthur DOUST (c1600-?)

and Frances PAINE (c1610-?)

 

Arthur Doust and Frances Paine married on 15 January 1635/6 in Crowhurst, Sussex.  This may have been Arthur's second marriage.

Arthur Doust's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might he have been the son or nephew of Stephen Doust?

Frances Paine’s date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

 

Arthur Doust and unknown may have had the following children:

  1. John Doust was baptised on 6 January 1622/3 in Crowhurst.

  2. Margerie Doust was baptised on 25 July 1624 in Crowhurst.

  3. Alice Duste was baptised on 24 October 1628 in Crowhurst.

  4. Constance Doust was baptised on 30 January 1630/1 in Crowhurst.

  5. Robert Doust was baptised on 13 October 1633 in Crowhurst.  A Robert Doust was buried on 27 June 1680 in Bexhill.

    Robert may have married Sarah Barton on 23 November 1660 in Bexhill.

    Sarah wife of Robert Doust was buried on 4 March 1668/9 in Bexhill.

    Robert and Sarah had the following children:

    1. Elizabeth Doust was baptised on 8 February 1660/1 in Bexhill and buried there as an infant on 15 March 1660/1.

    2. Thomas Doust was baptised on 8 May 1664 in Bexhill and buried there on 10 August 1667.

    3. Joanne Doust was baptised on 20 January 1665/6 in Bexhill and buried there on 19 May 1667.

    4. Mary Doust was baptised on 1 March 1667/8 in Bexhill and buried there on 10 July 1670.

 

Arthur Doust and Frances Paine may have had the following children:

  1. George Doust was baptised on 6 October 1636 in Crowhurst.  A George Doust was buried in Hooe on 6 April 1690.

    Ann wife of George Doust was buried on 1 February 1689/90 in Hooe.

    George and Ann had the following children:

    1. Thomas Doust was baptised on 8 August 1669 in Hooe.

    2. George Dust was baptised on 19 November 1671 in Hooe.

    3. Ann Doust was baptised on 10 January 1674/5 in Hooe.  She married Henry Wimshurst on 5 January 1692/3 in Hooe.

    4. Edward Doust was baptised on 14 October 1677 in Hooe and buried there on 22 April 1679.

  2. Edward Doust was baptised on 2 December 1638 in Crowhurst.

  3. Marie Doust was baptised on 25 February 1639/40 in Crowhurst.

  4. Elizabeth Dowst was baptised on 31 October 1641 in Crowhurst.

    Did she marry John Frankwell on 3 December 1665 in Bexhill, Sussex?

  5. Mercy Dowst was baptised on 10 September 1644 in Crowhurst.

  6. John Dowst was baptised on 21 February 1646 in Crowhurst.

 

I don't, as far as I know, have any connection to the above family.  I am seeking the birth/baptism of a Mary Doust, possibly in the 1670's, and I am wondering if Arthur may have been her Grandfather.
