Richard DIXON (c1660-1708)

and Ann (?-1718)

Richard Dixon and Ann were my 8x Great Grandparents.  They married sometime before or about 1689, possibly in or near Henham, Essex, although I have checked the Henham marriage register and could not find an entry for the couple.

Richard Dixonís date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  The Henham burial register records that a Richard Dixon was buried on 2 March 1707/8.

Annís date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was most probably buried on 27 November 1718 in Henham.  However, a widow Dixon was buried in Henham on 27 February 1739/40.

Richard Dixon and Ann had 8 known children:

  1. Richard Dixon, my 7x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 21 December 1689 in Henham.  He married Elizabeth Gurlen in 1714.  (They have their own page.)

  2. Elizabeth Dixon was baptised on 1 January 1691/2 in Henham.

  3. William Dixon was baptised on 28 January 1693/4 in Henham.  He may have been buried on 20 March 1723/4 in Henham.

  4. Ezechiel Dixon was baptised on 8 March 1695/6 in Henham.  An Ezekiel Dixon, yeoman of Widford, Hertfordshire, left a will in 1766

  5. Martha Dixon was baptised in July 1698 in Henham, possibly on 22 July.

  6. Anne Dixon was baptised on 26 April 1701 in Henham.

  7. John Dixon was baptised on 24 April 1702 in Henham.

    John may have married Mary.

Mary wife of John Dixon was buried on 21 February 1727/8 in Henham.

John and Mary had the following children:

    1. John Dixon was baptised on 27 February 1725/6 in Henham and buried there on 14 March 1725/6.

    2. Anne Dixon was baptised on 2 January 1726/7 in Henham and buried there on 5 January 1726/7.

John may also have married Elizabeth Campen on 15 July 1728 in Henham..

John and Elizabeth had the following children:

    1. John Dixon was baptised on 14 December 1729 in Henham.

    2. Ezekiel Dixon was baptised in 1732 in Elsenham.

    3. Elizabeth Dixon was baptised on 1 October 1734 in Henham.

    4. Anne Dixon was baptised on 28 April 1737 in Henham.

    5. Richard Dixon was baptised on 1 April 1739 in Henham.
