Richard Pearson and Jane Poole were my 6x Great
Grandparents. (Click
here to
see their place in my pedigree chart.) They married by licence on 17 January 1708/9 in Terwick,
Sussex. Their marriage licence was issued on 14 January 1708/9 by the
Archdeaconry of Chichester. It recorded that Richard Pearson
was a bachelor and brickmaker, whilst Jane Dennyer was a widow.
They were both then of Woolbeding. The sponsors of the licence were
Richard himself, Henry Hearsey a cordwainer of Chichester, John
Doe and Richarde Doe. Her name was recorded as Jane
Dennier in the marriage register. Jane had previously married
William Denyer on 1 June 1697 in Bepton, Sussex
As a widower and bricklayer of Woolbeding Richard Pearson married
Mary Sweet by licence on 12 June 1745 in Cocking, Sussex. She was
a spinster of Woolbeding. Their marriage licence was issued by the
Archdeaconry of Chichester on 10 June 1745. Surety for the licence was
provided by Richard himself and John Gates a bricklayer of
Chichester.
William Denyer was baptised on 26 September 1673 in Woolbeding.
He was the son of

Denyer (c1645-1684) and Elizabeth. He died in 1705.
Richard Pearson's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
He left a will dated 24 March 1748/9 and proved 8 March 1750.
Principally he left his brickyard and meadow to his son Richard and
then to his grandson also named Richard. Click

Jane Poole's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
She died before 1745. I have checked the Woolbeding burial register
from 1710 until 1750 and could not find a burial for her.
Mary Sweet's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
She was appointed the sole executrix of her husband's will.
William Denyer and Jane
Poole had 4 known children:

William Dennyor was baptised on 18 December 1698 in Woolbeding.
He may have married Ann Tribe by licence on 21 November 1720 in
Iping, Sussex. However, their marriage licence, which was issued on 18
November 1720 by the Archdeaconry of Chichester, recorded that William was a
tailor of Bramshott in Hampshire. Sponsors of the licence were William
himself and William Philips a husbandman of Rogate, Sussex.

was baptised on 18 January 1699/1700 in Woolbeding.

Heyshott, Sussex. He was then of Lavant.

the wife of William Pryar.
As Ann Pearcy she married
William Pryor by licence on 31 January 1733/4 in Cocking, Sussex.
They were both then of Heyshott. Their marriage licence was issued
on 29 January 1733/4 by the Archdeaconry of Chichester, which recorded
that he was a bachelor and husbandman.

Lurgashall.
The IGI doesn't record any possible baptisms for any of the Jane Poole's.
