Robert DENYER
(c1635-1684)
and Elizabeth (?-?)

Robert Denyer and Elizabeth may have married sometime in the 1660's, but no possible marraige has
been recorded in the Sussex Family History Group's marriage index.
Robert Denyer's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
He died in 1684. He was most probably the son of Robert Denyer
(c1600-1657) and Elizabeth. In the 1657
will of Robert
Denyer he appointed his son Robert Denyer as executor. He
also named a daughter, Elizabeth, who was under 21 years old in 1657.
I am assuming that Robert junior was over 21 in 1657, therefore, born
sometime before 1636.
Elizabeth's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
Robert Denyer and
Elizabeth had 2 known children:
-
Robert Denyer was baptised on 6 December 1668 in Woolbeding.
His parent's names were recorded in the baptism register as Robert
and Anne.
-
Robert Dennyer
was baptised on 26 July 1671 in Woolbeding.
He married Sarah
Launder on 29 December 1697 in
Terwick, Sussex.
-
William Dennier was baptised on 26 September 1673 in Woolbeding.
He married
Jane Poole
in 1697. (They have their own page.)
-
Thomas Denyer was baptised on 29 October 1677 in Woolbeding.
He married Margaret Frye by licence on 8 January 1698/9 in Sutton,
Sussex. Their marriage licence was issued by the Archdeaconry of
Chichester of 3 January 1698/9 which recorded that Thomas was a brickmaker
of Woolbeding and Margaret a spinster of Stedham. Thomas and
Margaret may have had the following child:
-
Thomas Dennyer was baptised on 13 December 1709 in Woolbeding.
Thomas probably died before 1711 as Margaret Denyer married
Robert Blackman in Terwick. No date was recorded in the marriage
register, but a marriage licence was issued by the Deanery of Chichester
on 9 June 1711 which recorded that Margeret was a widow of Easebourne,
Sussex and Robert a bachelor and glover of Midhurst.
-
Mary Dennyer was baptised on 3 September 1684 in Woolbeding.
Her parents were named in the baptism register as Robert and Alice.
How might the following family fit with the above:
Thomas Denyer had the following children:
-
William Denyer was baptised on 28 February 1703/4 in Bepton.
-
Anne Denyer was baptised on 25 January 1707/8 in Bepton.
-
Sarah Dennier was baptised on 22 December 1713 in Bepton.
