William DENMAN (c1570-?)

and Agnes BARRETT (1571-?)

 

William Denman and Agnes Barrett may have been my 10x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their possibly place in my pedigree chart.)  They married on 31 December 1594 in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex.

William Denman's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might he have been the son of John Denman and Elizabeth Westover who married on 24 September 1564 in Bolney?  John was then of Cuckfield and Elizabeth of Bolney.

Agnes Barrett may have been baptised on 16 September 1571 in Brighton, Sussex and have been the daughter of Edward Barrett and Alice Wells.

 

William Denman and Agnes Barrett had 3 known children:

  1. Elizabeth Denman was baptised on 7 October 1599 in Hurstpierpoint.  Only her father's name appeared in the baptism register.

    Elizabeth married Robert Juppe on 2 July 1620 in Shermanbury.

  2. Thomas Denman, my possible 9x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 21 May 1601 in Hurstpierpoint.  He married Joan Cogger in 1629.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Dorothy Denman was baptised on 14 April 1603 in Hurstpierpoint and buried there on 18 December 1615.
