Sussex. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
was baptised on 23 September 1684
in Rotherfield, Sussex. He was the son
(1649-1735). He lived at Newmans, Rotherfield.
Nicholas was buried on 28
October 1765 in Rotherfield.
Ann Luxford's date and
place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. She was buried in Rotherfield on 31 March 1765.
Nicholas Dodswell and
Ann Luxford had 7 known children:
Ann Dodswell was baptised on 5 November 1733 in Rotherfield. She
married Thomas Bridger on 13 April 1763 in Rotherfield.
Nicholas Dadswell was baptised on 24 July 1735 in Rotherfield.
He was buried in Mayfield on 25 January 1824.
Hannah Bishop on 3 May 1766 in Mayfield.
Hannah was baptised on 15
December 1734 in Rotherfield and was the daughter of Richard Bishop
and Susannah. She was buried on 28 February 1810 in Mayfield.
Nicholas and Hannah had 10 known children.
Mary Dodswell was baptised on 8 December 1737 in Rotherfield.
Mary married John Best (or West) by banns on 25
February 1767 in Rotherfield. He was then a widower and they were both
Thomas Dadswell was baptised on 9 December 1739 in Rotherfield.
He was buried there on 13 March 1804. He was a gardener. His will was
dated 2 March 1804 and proved in Lewes on 16 April 1804. He left
legacies to his sisters Ann, Mary and Elizabeth,
brother Edward and niece Sarah wife of William Miles.
Robert Dadswell was baptised on 25 April 1742 in Rotherfield.
Elizabeth Dadswell was baptised on 5 May 1745 in Rotherfield.
She was buried on 31 March 1815 in Mayfield.
Edward Dadswell was baptised on 22 April 1747 in Rotherfield. He
was buried on 14 February 1821 in Mayfield.. Edward was a barber
and also owned a drapers shop in Mayfield.
Everest by banns on 25 June 1771 in Rotherfield. They were both
then of Rotherfield The couple moved to Mayfield soon after their marriage,
they had 5 sons baptised.
