John COOPER (?-?)

and Catherine WILSON (?-?)

 

John Cooper and Catherine Wilson married by banns on 11 November 1789 in Thakeham, Sussex.  He was then a bachelor and she a spinster and they were both of Thakeham.  The witnesses to their marriage were Edward Richardson and James Skinner.  (They were not my direct ancestors, but they were the 4x Great Grandparents of my cousin Julie Willard.)

John Cooper's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He may have been the son of James Cooper and Jane Jupp.

Catherine Wilson's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She may have been the daughter of Richard Wilson and Ann Coomber.

 

John Cooper and Catherine Wilson had 8 known children:

  1. Catherine Cooper was baptised on 10 January 1790 in Thakeham.

  2. John Cooper was baptised on 9 November 1792 in Thakeham.

  3. William Cooper was baptised on 1 April 1795 in Thakeham.

  4. Sarah Cooper was baptised on 31 October 1796 in Thakeham.

  5. James Cooper was baptised on 17 December 1797 in Thakeham.

  6. Richard Cooper was born about 1801 in Thakeham.  He married Caroline Nicholson in 1833.  (They have their own page.)

  7. Mary Cooper was born about 1802 in Thakeham.

  8. Ann Cooper was baptised on 24 March 1805 in Thakeham.

  9. Rebecca Cooper was baptised on 21 July 1806 in Thakeham.
