Stephen CATT (1655-1732)

and Elizabeth COLEMAN (c1660-1713)

 

Stephen Catt and Elizabeth Coleman married by licence on 11 August 1681 in Wadhurst, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Stephen Catt was baptised on 10 June 1655 in Ewhurst.  He was the son of Stephen Catt (1630-?) and Ann.  He was buried there on 22 November 1732.

Elizabeth Coleman's was baptised on 26 November 1657 in East Grinstead.  She was the daughter of William Coleman and Mary.  She was buried in Ewhurst on 4 December 1713.

 

Stephen Catt and Elizabeth Coleman had 9 known children:

  1. Solomon Catt was baptised on 10 May 1682 in Ewhurst.  He married twice.  Firstly to Ann Hartley on 8 April 1716 in Salehurst, Sussex.  He was then of Ewhurst.  Solomon then married Lucy Austin on 15 April 1725 in Salehurst and this time he was described as a widower of Salehurst.

  2. Stephen Catt was baptised on 8 April 1683 in Ewhurst.

  3. John Catt was baptised on 24 May 1684 in Ewhurst.  He married Mary Morgan in 1711.  (They have their own page.)

  4. Thomas Catt was baptised on 2 August 1685 in Ewhurst.

  5. Elizabeth Catt was baptised on 19 June 1687 in Ewhurst.

  6. Thomas Catt was baptised on 25 April 1689 in Ewhurst.

  7. Sarah Catt was baptised on 10 February 1690 in Ewhurst.

  8. Thomas Catt was baptised on 22 August 1692 in Ewhurst.
