Samuel CATT (c1675-1722)

and Elizabeth (?-?)

Samuel Catt and Elizabeth married before or about 1714 and possibly in or near Brede, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Samuel Catt was baptised on 25 June 1677 in Brede, Sussex.  He was the son of John Catt (?-1690) and Clement Jervice (?-1697).  Samuel was baptised on the same day as his twin brother and sister, Edward and Elizabeth.  He was buried on 10 May 1722 in Brede.  The baptism register noted that he was poor and buried on the same day as his daughter Mary.

Elizabeth's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

Samuel Catt and Elizabeth had 4 known children:

  1. Thomas Catt was baptised on 27 February 1714/5 in Brede, Sussex.  He married Mary Catt in 1738.  (They have their own page.)

  2. Nickolas Catt was baptised on 27 December 1716 in Brede.

  3. Mary Catt was baptised on 11 October 1718 in Brede and buried there on 10 May 1722.

  4. Elizabeth Catt was buried on 5 June 1723 in Brede.  It was noted in the burial register that she was the daughter of Elizabeth Catt a poor widow.
