George CATT (c1520-1590)

and Eglatine (c1520-1593)

 

George Catt and Eglatine married before or about 1540 and settled in Rotherfield, Sussex.

George Catt may have been born in the 1520's, the son of John Catte and Mary.  He was buried on 4 December 1590 at St. Denys, Rotherfield.

Eglatine was buried on 27 June 1593 in Rotherfield.

 

George Catt and Eglatine had 4 or more children:

  1. Margery Catt was baptised on 20 October 1543 in Rotherfield.

  2. Nicholas Catt was baptised on 6 October 1545 in Rotherfield.  He married Christobel Allchorne in 1578.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Dorathe Catt was baptised on 15 August 1547 in Rotherfield.  She may have died before 1562.

  4. Marye Catte was  baptised on 13 April 1550 in Rotherfield.

  5. Thomas Catt may have been part of this family and been born in the 1530's.  He married Frances Frae on 21 July 1560 in Rotherfield.

  6. John Catt may have been part of this family (or a nephew?) and have been born in the 1540's.  He married Avis Farmer on 4 July 1572 in Rotherfield.  As Ann Catt, widow, she may have married Thomas Cripes on 9 February 1593/4 in Rotherfield.

  7. Eglatine Catt may have been part of this family.  She married Richard Kente on 5 February 1578/9 in Rotherfield.

  8. Absalom Catt may have been part of this family.  He married Margery Harmer on 27 November 1582 in Rotherfield.

  9. George Catt may have been part of this family.  He married Denise Allen on 30 June 1588 in Rotherfield.
