Edward CATT (1677-1733)

and Mary BAKER (?-1732)

Edward Catt and Mary Baker married on 10 October 1710 in Fairlight, Sussex.  He was then from Brede, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Edward Catt was baptised on 25 June 1677 in Brede, Sussex.  He was the son of John Catt (?-1690) and Clement Jervice (?-1697).  Edward was a twin.  Edward was buried on 24 August 1733 in Brede.

Mary Baker's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 22 March 1731/2 in Brede.  The burial register noted that she was the wife of Edward Catt.

Edward Catt and Mary Baker had 7 known children:

  1. John Catt was born and baptised on 20 June 1712 in Brede and buried there on 25 October 1727.

  2. Edward Catt was baptised on 26 May 1714 in Brede.

Did Edward marry Elizabeth Garland on 10 December 1738 in Winchelsea, Sussex?

  3. Steven Catt was baptised on 20 February 1715/6 in Brede and buried there on 24 June 1716.

  4. Samuel Catt was baptised on 25 August 1717 in Brede.

  5. Mary Catt was on 8 March 1718/9 in Brede, Sussex.  She married Thomas Catt in 1738.  (They have their own page.)

  6. Sarah Catt was baptised on 23 October 1720 in Brede.

Did Sarah marry William Rydley on 26 April 1747 in Brede.  Sarah was then of Brede and William of Hastings.

  7. Elizabeth Catt was baptised on 11 November 1722 in Brede.
