William BROWNE (1604-?)

and Susanna COOPER (c1608-?)

William Browne and Susanna Cooper were my 10x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)  They married on 3 June 1629 in Ifield, Sussex.

William Browne was baptised on 30 September 1604 in Ifield.  He was the son of the Reverend Benjamin Browne (1571-1638) and Sarah Leachford (c1575-1638).  He may have been buried on 12 August 1652 or 5 May 1686 in Buxted, Sussex - his daughter Susanna married in Buxted in 1666 - or on 16 May 1657 in Ifield.

Susanna Cooper's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She may have been buried on 26 August 1656 in Buxted, Sussex, as Susanna Browne.

William Browne and Susanna Cooper had 7 known children:

  1. Sarah Browne was baptised on 27 February 1630/1 in Ifield and buried there on 15 February 1633/4.

  2. William Browne was baptised on 10 February 1632/3 in Ifield and buried there on 10 February 1633/4.

  3. Susannah Browne, my 9x Great Grandmother, was baptised on 7 June 1635 in Ifield.  She married Benedict Thorpe in 1666.  (They have their own page.)

  4. Benjamin Browne was baptised on 2 July 1637 in Ifield.

  5. Thomas Browne was baptised on 21 March 1640/1 in Ifield.

  6. William Browne was baptised on 21 March 1640/1 in Ifield.

  7. Sarah Browne was baptised on 31 March 1644 in Ifield.
