My Brown AncestorsFirst Line - of BerkshireA 4x Great Grandmother was Ann Brown who married James Warman (1770-1815) in 1798 in Reading, Berkshire. Second Line - of SussexA 9x Great Grandmother was Susanna Browne who was born in 1635 in Ifield, Sussex and married Benedict Thorpe (1634-1697) in 1666 in Buxted, Sussex. The Thorpe family had been Iron Masters in the Worth and East Grinstead area in 16th Century, and Susanna's possible 2x Great Grandfather, John Browne had also been involved in the Wealden Iron Industry in the West Hoathly area. I am ashamed to say that all the information I have managed to bring together on Susanna's ancestors has come from numerous web sites - thanks to all those who have spent so much time on our Browne ancestry. One day I may get around to doing some research for myself! Third Line - of SussexA 14x Great Grandmother was Agnes Brown who married John Barham (c1452-?). The couple were of Wadhurst, Sussex. The Barham family had been Iron Masters in the Wadhurst area.
