The BROOKS Family of Sussex
My Brooks AncestorsI have 2 4x Great Grandmother Brooks, who I believe were sisters. I am confident that Charlotte Brooks born in 1780 was my ancestor and I know I have a Sarah Brooks, but I'm not so sure she was the one born in 1775, and thus the sister of Charlotte. Charlotte Brooks married James Mills in 1801 in Pulborough. Sarah Brooks married Allen Holder in 1794 in Pulborough. Sarah's age at death and from the census puts her birth at about 1772 and there was a Sarah Brooks born in 1771 in nearby Billingshurst. However, shortly before my Sarah married Allen, another Sarah Brooks married James Slater, and from her age at death she was born about 1773.
