Henry BROCKET (c1570-1611)

and Mary ARNOLDE (c1575-1658)

 

Henry Brocket and Mary Arnolde may have been my 11x Great Grandparents.  They married on 22 October 1599 in Cuckfield, Sussex.

Henry Brocket's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He was buried on 30 September 1611 in Cuckfield and was then described in the burial register as a husbandman.  Might Henry have been the son of Ninnion Brocket who was buried on 4 April 1600 in Cuckfield?

Mary Arnolde's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 1 May 1658 in Cuckfield and the burial register recorded that she was a "widdow".

 

Henry Brocket and Mary Arnolde had 5 known children:

  1. Ninian Broket was baptised on 8 February 1600/1 in Cuckfield.

  2. Mary Broket was baptised on 2 January 1602/3 in Cuckfield.  She may have been buried on 9 April 1670 in Cuckfield.  Unfortunately the burial register just records the name Mary Brockat.

  3. Jane Brockat was baptised on 7 April 1605 in Cuckfield.  She may have married James Wood on 5 May 1640 in Cuckfield, at which time her surname was recorded as Brockett.

  4. Sarah Brocket, my possible 10x Great Grandmother, was baptised on 2 April 1609 in Cuckfield.  She married John Geale in 1632.  (They have their own page.)

  5. Susan Brocket was baptised on 22 December 1611 in Cuckfield.  The baptism register noted that her father was deceased.  Susan was buried on 30 September 1612 in Cuckfield and the burial register recorded that her mother was a "widdowe".
