George BOX (1723-1801)

and Judith WHITE (1722-1802)

St. Peters, Ardingly, c.1910 - from: http://www.westsussexpast.org.uk/pictures/index.htmlGeorge Box and Judith White were married on 8 February 1742/3 at the Fleet Prison, London.  George was then described as a bachelor and wheelwright of Ardingly, whilst Judith was a spinster.  (They were not my direct ancestors.  George was the brother of my 5x Great Grandfather, John Box.)

George Box was baptised on 5 January 1723/4 in Ardingly, Sussex.  He was the second son and third child of George Box (1687-1757) and Ann Comber (1697-1753).  He died aged 78 years and was buried on 18 March 1801 in Ardingly.  His maternal grandmother was also a Judith White, who was one of two born in 1666.

Judith White was baptised on 2 March 1721/2 in Balcombe, Sussex.  She was the second daughter and fourth child of Peter White (c1690-1748) and Sarah Vinall (1695-1722).  It would seem her mother was buried on the same day that Judith was baptised.  She died aged 81 years and was buried on 23 March 1802 in Ardingly.  Another Judith White was baptised on 25 September 1728 in Worth, the daughter of Richard White, but she would have been too young to have married in 1743.

As yet, I don't know if the two Judiths born in 1666, and the two in 1722 and 1728 were all related in someway.
