The Will of
John BOURNE
(1750-1830)

This is the last Will and Testament of me
John
Bourne of Hellingly in the Country of Sussex Yeoman First I
ordain and direct that all my just Debts and funeral and Testamentary
Expenses be paid and discharged and subject thereto I give devise and
bequeath All and every my Messuages Farms Lands Tenements Hereditiaments and
Real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever as well Freehold as Copyhold And also
all my Monies Securities for Money Goods Chattels Effects and personal
Estate whatsoever and wheresover unto the use of my son Thomas Cave
Bourne and his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns according to
the nature and tenure thereof respectively absolutely for ever And I
constitute and appoint my said son Thomas Cave Bourne and my Friend
Thomas King of Cliff near Lewes in the said County Butcher Executors
of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made In Testimony
whereof I the said John Bourne the Testator have to this my last Will
and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal the
twentieth day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and
thirty John Bourne signed sealed published and declared by the above
named John Bourne the Testator as and for this last Will and
Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in
the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses
Frs. Harding Gell Lewes ~ Geo Wm Cocksedge ~ Henry Jones his
Clerks
The Will of John Bourne late of Hellingly but at the time of his
decease of Hailsham within the Archdeaconry of Lewes Yeoman deceased was
proved the twenty first day of December in the Year of our Lord One
Thousand eight hundred and thirty Before The Reverend Anthony Nott
Clerk Surrogate and soforth Upon the Oath of Thomas Henry Bourne
(in the said Will called Thomas Cave Bourne) one of the Executors
in the said Will named To whom was committed the Administration of the
Goods &c He being first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same
and so forth (power being reserved for granting the like Commission to
Thomas King the other Executor in the said will named when &c) sworn also
that the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in
value unto Fifty pounds
