Edward BOURNE (1683-?)

and Frances HAMMOND (c1685-1755)

 

Edward Bourne married Frances Hammond by licence on 27 December 1704 in Hellingly, Sussex.  He was then a yeoman of Withyham, Sussex and she a spinster of Chiddingly, Sussex.

Edward Bourne was baptised on 29 May 1683 in Withyham.  He was the son of John Bourne and Margaret Anscomb.

Frances Hammond's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She left a will dated 5 September 1747 and proved on 1 Febraury 1755.

 

Edward Bourne and Frances Hammond had 5 known children:

  1. John Bourn was born on 2 February and baptised on 9 February 1705 in Withyham.  He was named in his mothers will of 1747, but he may have been dead by then, as she left one guinea to his children and the residue of her estate to her sons Edward and Thomas.

  2. Henry Bourn was baptised on 12 September 1707 in Withyham.

  3. Edward Bourn was baptised on 30 April 1709 in Withyham.  He was named in his mother's will of 1747 at which time he was a wheelwright of Herstmonceux.

  4. Robert Bourn was baptised on 9 June 1712 in Withyham.

  5. Thomas Bourne was baptised on 25 May 1714 in Withyham, Sussex.  He may have married Rachel Smith in 1746.  (They have their own page.)
