Thomas BOTTING (c1540-?)

and Joan (c1540-?)

 

Thomas Bottinge and Joan married on 24 July 1562 in Nuthurst, Sussex.  Joan's surname was omitted from the parish register.

Thomas Bottinge's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  The IGI suggests he was born about 1537.

Joan's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

 

Thomas Botting and Joan may have had some of the following children:

  1. John Botting was baptised on 12 March 1561 in Nuthurst.

  2. Eliysabeth Bottinge was baptised on 5 November 1562 in Nuthurst.

  3. Edward Botting was baptised on 7 December 1562 in Nuthurst.  He may have married  E. Taverner in July 1593 in Nuthurst.

  4. Elysabeth Botting was baptised on 25 April 1563/4 in Nuthurst.

  5. Jone Bottinge was baptised on 6 July 1564/5 in Nuthurst.

  6. Stephen Botting was baptised on 16 September 1565/6 in Nuthurst.  He may have married Alice M- on 22 December 1587 in Nuthurst.

  7. James Bottinge was baptised on 20 December 1565/6 in Nuthurst.  He married Margery Walder in 1596.  (They have their own page.)  The names of his parents were not recorded in the baptism register, so I can not be sure he was the son of Thomas and Joan.

  8. Henry Botting was baptised on 16 July 1567/8 in Nuthurst.

  9. John Botting was baptised on 12 November 1568/9 in Nuthurst.

  10. Agnes Botting was baptised on 26 October 1569/70 in Nuthurst.  As Ann Botting she may have married Simon Fuller on 16 July 1592 in Nuthurst.

  11. Jone Bottinge was baptised on 29 October 1570/71 in Nuthurst.

  12. Agnes Bottinge was baptised on 29 June 1571/72 in Nuthurst.  She may have married Henry Gratwicke on 11 September 1597 in Nuthurst.

  13. John Bottinge was baptised on 25 December 1575/76 in Nuthurst.

  14. Thomas Bottinge was baptised on 10 October 1578 in Nuthurst.

  15. Elizabeth Botting married Robert Pellett on 14 April 1600 in Nuthurst.

  16. Katherine Botting was baptised on 27 March 1581/82 in Nuthurst.

  17. Dorathy Botting was baptised on 2 February 1587/88 in Nuthurst.

 

The above dates have come from a transcript of the Nuthurst parish registers.

 

Henry Bottinge and Margaret Wodden married on 12 January 1560/1 in Horsham, Sussex.  She was then a spinster.  Might they have been the parents of some of the above children?
